This translates to 16.6 copies bought by each man, woman, boy, and girl in the country every year! With an average thickness of at least 2 cm per book/magazine, if stacked on top of each other, the stack would equal 11,122 mountains the height of Mt. Fuji.�� The three top selling manga titles alone have a total turnover of 10,000,000 copies every single week.

The popularity of this form of literature inspired New Life League to create the Manga Bible. A not-for-profit organization in the US called NEXT was created for the purpose of copy protection and world-wide distribution of the Manga Bible.
